The
members of the Aurora Gun Club would like to extend an invitation to you
to visit our facility. We began as the Aurora Sportsmen's Chapter of the
Izaak Walton League of America on January 21, 1947. The Group was organized
by a number of Aurora businessmen. There is still an active chapter of
the I.W.L.A. in the Club, but in the 1970's we became the Aurora Gun Club.
We are now at one thousand plus members!
Do you know someone who needs a part-time job?
If so, the Club is looking for a dependable employee to work weekends at the club house. Please have them contact either Dave Bonner 303.750.4819 or Debra Caldwell 720.810.3927. |
NOTICE:
As per the AGC member rule number 31 "members may bring a maximum of four guests at one time. A fee of $3 per guest will be charged for the additional non-family member guests and the member is responsible for payment. Members with guests can only use one shooting position on any rifle or pistol range."
Rule # 30 states " A member may bring his/her spouse and children under 18 to the range plus one other guest free of charge." We have added a payment box at the north end of the caretaker house by the garage door.
Members are now required to pay for their guest BEFORE shooting. Follow the directions on the lid of the box and deposit your envelope in the slot. The board of directors passed the following motion regarding payment. It will be strictly enforced by the club. "AGC members will abide by rules 30, 31, and 32 as written in the AGC General Member Rules.
Guest fees will be paid BEFORE shooting at the Guest Fee Station. Failure to do so will result in the range officer or caretaker collecting DOUBLE fees from the member on the first offense. Repeated offenses will be referred to the BOD for discipline." Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Housing Developers are attempting
to get the property directly to the south of the AGC rezoned from
"Light Commercial" to "Residential" . The purpose
of the rezoning is so the developer can place 1120 single family
homes on the property. The proposed plan would have single
family homes, apartments/condos built in the area. This type
of medium density housing could drastically affect the range should
complaints start to be raised with the city of Aurora or the AGC
from the residents of this proposed development.
Within the past year, there has been both a community and Aurora City Planning Commission meeting, that were attended by many members of the AGC board, AGC general membership, members of the local community and by the United States Air Force.
These meetings seemed to go in favor of the zoning not changing. We are waiting for a future Aurora City council meeting to be set where in, the city council members will vote on the decision to finally change the zoning to medium density residential or keep it as it is, light commercial.
Your Aurora Gun Club needs your help! Whether you live in Aurora
or not you can show your support by contacting the Aurora
City Council members and voicing your opposition to this propsal.
