Teaching Classes at the Aurora Range
With the state law passage there has been a lot of interest in classes that meet the required training requirement.  AGC supports the need for such training however , when done as a commercial enterprise there are restrictions placed on such training by the Board to assure member use of the range is not unduly restricted.
The Board passed in Nov. 01 the Commercial Use Policy.
Click the underlined area for that policy.

Authorized Targets:(6-15-00)
There have been incidents of shooting at unauthorized targets and improperly posted targets. This can result in range damage or safety issues and loss of membership privileges.  Remember, post targets so that all rounds fired will impact the berm and not hit the bay floor; check impact point when you change positions such as from standing to prone or bench.  All targets must be such that a round impacting them will not result in a deflection that leaves the range or result in range damage or significant junk remaining on the berms.  Clean up after yourself.

Shooting at targets such as cans, bottles, bowling pins. is prohibited. Shooting at tires or range supports/equipment is forbidden

Use of steel for targets is restricted.  They must be designed to be a target and be hung properly and can only be used in certain bays. If in doubt, ASK.

Shooting Hours(4-15-00)
The shooting hours have changed from sunrise-to-sunset to 7:30am-to-legal sunset. Shooting too early is discourtesy to our neighbors and shooting too late is unsafe.  If it is too dark  to clearly see your target and what is on the range then stop, even if legal sunset has not yet arrived.
